Your chat messages are processed by AI service providers (such as OpenAI) solely to generate learning responses. These providers are bound by their own privacy policies and data processing agreements.

🎓 Student Privacy (Ages 12–18)

We take the privacy of young learners seriously. Our practices are designed with awareness of:

• COPPA (Children's Online Privacy Protection Act): For users under 13, we require parental or guardian consent before collecting personal information. Parents may review, modify, or request deletion of their child's data at any time.
• FERPA (Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act): When Girl Code is used in a school setting, we work with educational institutions to ensure student records are handled in compliance with FERPA requirements.

We retain your data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide our services. Specifically:

• Account data: Retained until you request deletion.
• Chat messages: Stored to maintain your learning context and history. Older messages may be summarized or archived.
• Progress data: Retained to track your curriculum journey.
